Hello! Welcome to the Stricklen's blog. We hope to keep our family and friends up to date with what is going on with our family. You will find a variety of experiences posted here -- you may find pictures of the never ending project of building our house, Callie helping William with his first steps, Mary studying a rare insect species, or perhaps you may be terribly bored with Molly's numerous fruit trees, berries, vegetables and rare plant pictures! Who knows what we may find Chris and CJ doing -- probably something having to do with a tractor or machine of sorts. Abby and Margaret will keep us entertained with costumes from other lands or a fairy story. Whatever we post, we trust it will lift your spirits and bring honor and glory to our Lord!

The Lakeland TEA Part

There were tons of great speakers!



I took pictures of as many signs as I could--There were alot of really good ones.



There were plenty of people--I think around 2500.

Mary, you did such a good job of intermingling the quotes with the pictures. The soft black-and-white of Margaret Anne with the Reagan quote was especially poignant.

And as I am coming up to my own "sunset years", my heart's prayer is that I won't find it necessary to describe for your children what America used to be. Sometimes, it seems that is the sure consequence of the direction we are heading today.

Thank God for a Remnant like you, Mary, and our other grandchildren, who care enough to pray and act!!

Even though it rained, looks like y'all had fun. Sometimes the rain makes it funner. Glad to see there were lots of folks there... unlike the last one we went to:-(
They're all such good pictures of everyone.
Haha! "Uncle Sam" is hilarious. What was he on?
I like y'all's flag, but where's the Confederate flag? You wouldn't be the first ones.... ;-)

Hello Stickland Family,
Glad that you were able to be a part of the T.E.A. Party. We were not aware of one in our area. We are still hoping to make it down to your area soon now that the weather is getting nicer to see the Bok Tower. Will you all be going to the conference this December in Kentucky?

I think this e-mail address has been used already and has been found out. (Recognize DuPont?) Very funny, but it was a little bit unreal for me to believe. Hide in cyberspace?? Haha...Do you mind if I interpret--"Twitch" is Kitty, and Uncle Eddie is her father who is in hot pursuit of you because you played the same joke on him. "Mando," apparently is Amanda, since I can't imagine who else it could be. Anyways I wish you luck on your "escape." You're a good "joke player." I could never think of the things you come up with,
and I probably would have believed you if you hadn't played the same one on Uncle Eddie. Haha:)

I played a joke on the Dischers. They imediatly thought it was your Uncle Robert. I thought I was off scott free. Then after some investigation Twitchs' father realized it wasn't Robert. He has been looking for the person who played this joke ever since. He is close to finding out my true indentity. Please help me.

Whew, after reading the comments between Stanton and Shorty, I forgot what the post was about :)

It was a good T.E.A. Party, even with the rain. I think it makes a more powerful statement that the people who were there were very sincere in what they were standing for.
