Where The Orange Blossoms Grow....

Hello! Welcome to the Stricklen's blog. We hope to keep our family and friends up to date with what is going on with our family. You will find a variety of experiences posted here -- you may find pictures of the never ending project of building our house, Callie helping William with his first steps, Mary studying a rare insect species, or perhaps you may be terribly bored with Molly's numerous fruit trees, berries, vegetables and rare plant pictures! Who knows what we may find Chris and CJ doing -- probably something having to do with a tractor or machine of sorts. Abby and Margaret will keep us entertained with costumes from other lands or a fairy story. Whatever we post, we trust it will lift your spirits and bring honor and glory to our Lord!

Wisdom Shared

We are so very blessed to have my parents eat dinner with us on a regular basis and along with enjoying our meal together, we are blessed with invigorating conversation and invaluable wisdom that is passed down to us.
We realize how truly fortunate we are to have this abundance of wisdom at our disposal and we cherish these times more than words can express.
"The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness."
Proverbs 16:31

Working together

Margaret has been taking piano lessons from Mama, so they
finished up a lesson while they were here

They have been working on a duet "I Love you, Lord" by Ron Hamilton

We love you, Mama and Daddy!

Thank you so much for your leadership and humility in sharing your wisdom.

Thank you for such a sweet post, Molly! It surely was a good time of food and fellowship, wasn't it? The Lord uses these times to build and and strengthen our family to stand over the generations.

Now, if I had only checked the mirror before sitting down with Margaret Anne at the piano!! Couldn't Mary have Photoshopped that picture?? I mean, she is the Stricklen tech guru, right?

Love,
Mother

I meant to add how special it is to have Susan there, too. Not only does she contribute wisdom and family faithfulness from the "other" side of the family, but she makes delicious dishes, too!

Very nice duet, Margaret! It looks like you are trying to keep the right form with your fingers! Good for you!

You are right, Molly, we are extremely blessed to have an abundance of wisdom at our disposal. We so enjoy spontaneous meals together with Daddy and Mama. In fact, we're heading over to enjoy an evening with them in just a few minutes!

Beth
